The nonprofit association Brass Promotion was established in 2005 in order to achieve promoting music in all its forms, without any philosophical, political or linguistic concern.
In 2005, on the occasion of festivities organized in the framework of the 175th anniversary celebration of Belgium, the association wished to emphasize a Liegeois trumpeter, Théophile Charlier (1868 - 1944), giving its name to the First International Trumpet Competition organized in Belgium. The second edition of this International Competition will be held the first week of November 2015 at the Abbey of Malonne (Namur).
In 10 years Brass Promotion has implemented activities to ensure the influence of the music for "brass". The organization of musical courses from 2005 to 2008 was put on hold following the appointment of Dominique Bodart at the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra (Finland). The Big Band Academy Eghezée (BBAE) set up in early 2000 in collaboration with the Music Academy of Eghezée was taken entirely in the lap of Brass Promotion in 2010 and continues to successfully present on the occasion various events. One year later (March 2014) the world of brass in Wallonia has been enriched with the birth of a new group, the Namur Wallonia Brass Band (NWBB), comprising thirty musicians both professional and amateurs. The association has completed its scope by recording CD's to highlight the work and the excellent level of benefit musicians who join to our action.
